RestAura 2022 @ Ofrenda

The Act of Giving is Receiving ✨

RestAura 2022 was much more than a gathering. It is a collective prayer that celebrates that we are Alive, here, now! Everyone who came did so because they know the importance of honoring the land, learning from tradition holders, and celebrating through music, art, play and community. The ripples of the love that was shared at RestAura last month still vibrate deep within each of us. The ripples of the blessings, the teachings, the offerings, and the warmth of the sacred fire are still present and will continue to heal us in many ways in the months to come.

Day One at RestAura

was about honoring the Self. We connected to what it means to be alive, in alignment with our different bodies, and grateful for another day on planet Earth. It was a full day of Andean offerings, a powerful opening ceremony, panels led by thought leaders, Tibetan Buddhist and Mayan teachings, a kirtan and much more. Community came together to celebrate that one more year RestAura has brought all of us together in prayer and celebration.

Day Two at RestAura

was about honoring our relations and communities. We started the day with our second Andean Offering, led by Altomisayoq Maria Apaza and Don Vicente from the Q’ero nation, only to then fill it with more words of wisdom by Mayan, Toltec, Q'ero, Andean, Wixárika and Tibetan Buddhist tradition holders. We listened to the music of Tito La Rosa and Natalia LaFourcade in an inedit song offering by the fire. We laughed and played with our children by the ocean, danced and elevated our bodies, and sang our favorite medicine music songs in the shala under the full moon with Huaira, Emanazul, Moncaya, Benny Oyama, Natalia LaFourcade, Tito La Rosa and more.

Day Three at RestAura

was about honoring pachamama and All Life on Planet Earth: every plant, animal, mountain and valley, drop of water and spark of fire, every human and every being that makes this moment here, now, possible. Nothing exists but in deep interconnectedness to everything else. We are but one small cog in a perfect, beautiful and powerful engine of Love and Life.

RestAura would not be possible without our team of +100 collaborators who join together under the guidance of one same vision: a gathering like no other. On top of it being a celebration, an offering, and a community-driven co-created experience, RestAura is also a solid network of humans who show up to give their best, whether it is on panels, ceremonies, concerts, backstage, but also inside the kitchen, at reception, at restaurant or keeping our altars bright and alive. Thank you to all the humans who made this all possible. Without your generosity, RestAura would not be what it is today.

We offered. We prayed. We celebrated. We listened. We learned. We sang. We laughed. We cried. We danced. RestAura is an explosion of love hosted in the powerful land of Tulum, under the roof of our temple home IKAL. Like all ceremonies, we must open, and we must close. And so it happened: the closing ceremony of RestAura 2022 took place with over a hundred humans holding hands around the sacred fire, thanking all that happened in the last three days, and offering any benefits of the work done together to all beings.

It is said that a picture is worth more than a thousand words. We leave you with these photos that capture the essence of what RestAura is: humans gathered because they believe a better world is possible.

Thank you RestAura for helping us connect to this vibration, for it is from there that we can heal, remember, and act from a place of integrity and compassion.  May the fire of RestAura continue always to light us from within. May the words of wisdom shared at RestAura continue to always sing to us from within. May the benefits reaped from the gathering benefit all sentient beings!

We will be back next year with more Love to share! Until then.... be joyful, be playful, and always remember the preciousness of life.

For Life, and for All Sentient Beings. Kawsaypaq! Om Mani Padme Hum! Aho Aha Ahau!
